How Can You Help?

We love when parents and friends get involved in our children's ministry.  There are many ways for you to plug in.

Sunday School Teacher -

This person teaches a group of children in a particular age group on a weekly basis during our 11:00 am Bible study hour.  There are always at least 2 adults per group of kids.  They receive their curriculum for the whole unit so they can look over the lessons in plenty of time to be prepared.  This year we are teaching Group's "Dig In" curriculum.  It is all about the life of Jesus from His birth to His death and resurrection.  Supplies are prepared for you and ready to go every week.

InsideOut Teacher -

This person interacts with a group of children on a weekly basis during our Wednesday night activity time from 6:00-7:15 pm.  Each week, supplies will already be prepared for you, but teachers are expected to be familiar with the lesson.  We start out in large group time from about 6:00-6:30 pm.  Your small group teaching time follows large group until 7:15 pm and can include deeper Bible study, games, crafts, and snack time.  This year in InsideOut we have missions education where our children are learning about missions that Southland participates in here in San Angelo and around the world!  We think it is important for kids to know they are "on mission" wherever they are.

Substitute Teacher -

This person allows us to put their name on a list for Sunday School and InsideOut teachers to contact in case they have to be out a particular week.  You can be a sub for both Sunday School and InsideOut teachers or just one of them.

Closet Organizer -

Our Children's closets are in desperate need of a good clean out.  If you like to tidy things up and get organized, this is the perfect job for you!  Each of our classrooms have a closet that we need basic supplies in, and we also have a main resource closet that needs to get organized too.  There is no specific time frame for this job, just as it is convenient for you.

Decorator -

Do you like to decorate bulletin boards or create enthralling classrooms for children?  We would love your help!  SBC Kids has a monthly bulletin board that needs to be changed, as well as classrooms that can use decorating based on the Unit we are studying in our curriculum.  Again, there is no specific time frame for this job, but the bulletin board must be done at the beginning of the month.  All supplies will be provided for you.

If you would like to be involved but not sure what you would like to do, or if you have another great idea you would like to talk about, contact janet@southlandbaptist.org
